February 2023 Full Moon

Purnima took place on 5th of February 2023, in Ashlesha nakshatra. Natives with Lagna, Atma Karaka, Sun or Moon in Ashlesha, or strongly influenced by Mercury, still feel this influence the most.

Ashlesha is a constellation ruled by Mercury. Symbols: Serpent, Sarpas or Nagas (deified snakes, half serpents half human, ruling over Patala or the invisible half of 7th house of the world, just below the earthly plane of existence). Serpants have many types of qualities: the lowest ones have very evil qualities whereas the evolved ones are superior, hold divine qualities and healing effects on humans. Vedic legends of Ramayana and Mahabharata describe the various kinds of snakes and serpents – corresponding to human qualities and defects. Bone joints like elbows, knee caps, the nails and the ears are the body parts related to this nakshatra. It is a primarily "Kapha" (watery) nakshatra.

The main negative results of this Full Moon (Purnima) will be seen on 10th of February 2023 through the elements ruled by Hasta[1], on 15th of February through the elements ruled by Jyeshta[2] and on 20th of February through the elements ruled by Shatabisha.

The main positive results of this of this Full Moon (Purnima) will be seen on 24 February 2023 through the elements ruled by Ashwini and on 1st of March through the elements ruled by Ardra.

[1] The symbol for Hasta is the palm of the hand and is ruled by the Moon. The primary deity is Savitar, the Sun God, who promotes creativity. He is called “the golden handed one”. Hasta natives can have great dexterity and are skilled with the healing and other handcrafts. Hasta consists of five stars (finger) corresponding to the constellation of Corvus, the crow. [2] The primary symbol of Jyeshta is a round shaped amulet or talisman. Secondarily, an earring and umbrella.

The presence of Transit Rahu through Aries, 13 degrees, increasing its energies up to 15 degrees, represents a problematic situation for Earth. Rahu's 5th Aspect on Mercury transit through the 9th House of the world, combined with Full Moon in Ashlesha (ruled by Mercury) had caused movements in Patala (underground activities) much higher than usual.

The areas of a native’s chart ruled by Mercury and Ashelsha will know a surcharge of energy on 5th of February 2023 and onwards, progressively consuming their focus towards Rahu ruled areas in Shatabisha (healing activities).

The period between 5th and 20th of February 2023 is rather condusive to harshness, turmoil, lawsuits, wrong treatments or poisoning, short term prospects, gambling, frontal attacks. This purnima is not favourable for discreet activities, dealing with money, new beginnings or starting any project of a positive nature. Giving or receiving a financial loan can be disastrous. This period is rather favourable for stabilising one’s older projects, solidifying new protection shields, getting rid of old karma through fasting and personal discipline, education, cleaning home, travelling, various therapies, communications for purposes of the greater good and media events. Spending time by the sea side can prove very good for health, especially for those with natal Moon, Ketu or Lagna in Ashlesha. Beauty treatments based on sea/ocean can do miracles for one’s rejuvenation and skin healing in general. Jupiter in transit in Pisces gives its 9th auspicious aspect on this Moon, offering extra knowledge about water-based healing solutions.

This period is not favourable to marriage ceremonies, childbirth, fertility treatments, buying new clothes or jewellery.
